Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk — outings and activities for children of migrant background

Since 2023, with funding from the Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk, Hajia Adiza e.V. has run several projects for children of migrant background and refugee children in vulnerable situations. These activities were meant to give them a breathing space and time for leisure, away from the difficulties they face day to day.

The outings allowed the children to discover new places, explore different settings and broaden their experience. Visits to educational and leisure sites were organised, giving them the chance to widen their horizons and strengthen their sense of belonging to the community. These initiatives also eased their integration by encouraging exchange: they helped the children find their place in an intercultural setting and gave them a safe space in which to express themselves and build relationships.

The funding made it possible for hundreds of children to take part, opening up opportunities they might otherwise not have had.
